Do you feel as if you are going through the motions of life without truly  feeling happy?   Maybe it feels like life is repeating itself in negative ways. These patterns may involve problems with family or work, feelings of depression and/or anxiety, relationship struggles or feelings of inadequacy.  I enjoy helping people explore these patterns and in assisting them in discovering newer and happier ways of living. You deserve to live a life full of peace, joy and purpose and I would love to assist you on that journey.

As a therapist, I offer a caring and supportive environment for people to explore life’s struggles and find answers on how to create a more fulfilling life. Let’s explore what is not working in your life and determine ways to make life work for you. I truly enjoy assisting individuals on their journey to a healthier self and a happier life. I offer individual and group counseling services as well as hypnotherapy to children, teens and adults.

As mentioned, in addition to working with adults, I enjoy helping children and adolescents work through these struggles as well. Children and teens can act out, become depressed and/or anxious if they haven’t developed their own ways of coping. Childhood and adolescence is an extremely confusing time and even more so when stressful situations are present. Counseling is a great outlet for youth to be able to talk about their feelings. In working with this age group, I help them learn about themselves, their feelings and unique ways of dealing with these feelings. Children and adolescents become confused by intense emotions so it’s important for them to understand healthy ways of dealing with these emotions in order to achieve success in the world. I love working with this age group and helping them see their own strengths and developing positive skills for living.

Valerie Hubbard is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Valerie received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas State University and graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Valerie has enjoyed helping people of all ages work through their life struggles for 11 years. Counseling is truly her passion and she looks forward to continuing to assist others on their journey to healing.




Hypnotherapy is a truly effective way to change habits that keep us stuck where we don’t want to be. Hypnotherapy can help alter those deeply ingrained responses and lead you to success for any kind of positive change you want to make in your life.

Through hypnosis, we are able to reach the deep state of relaxation necessary to reach the subconscious mind. Habits, behavioral patterns, beliefs, emotions and fears are stored in the subconscious mind. These deep-rooted patterns are difficult to change and this is why hypnosis is so successful when change is desired. When the subconscious mind is reached through hypnosis, we are basically able to “reprogram” the way we think  and respond to the struggles we encounter in life.  Hypnosis is a successful way to address change for children, teens and adults.

The Happiness Book Club for Women

  • The Happiness Book Club is both a book club and a therapy group that promotes and teaches ways of finding happiness in your life.
  • Every 8 weeks, we will take on a new book that will help you find ways to enjoy and live your life more joyfully.
  • Each week will consist of group discussion on the chapters assigned, activities and/or worksheets and even a mini-hypnotherapy session for some topics.
  • The first book in the series is “Find Your Happy-An Inspirational Guide on Loving Life to its Fullest,” by Shannon Kaiser. The book can be included for an additional $15-due upon registration.

Cost: $40 per week (some insurances accepted-a receipt for out-of-network reimbursement can be provided upon request).

Music Therapy for Teens


  • Music is a powerful tool that can help people cope with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger and many other emotions and situations in life.
  • In this fun and interactive group, we will address different issues and emotions and learn how music can be used for growth, self-acceptance and positive change.
  • During our meetings, we will listen to songs that members have connected to the weekly topic. We will discuss the songs meaning and explore how music can be used as a coping tool.
  • Members will begin a music therapy book for future use that will contain printed lyrics from songs discussed during group sessions.


Cost: $40 per week (some insurances accepted-a receipt for out-of-network reimbursement can be provided upon request).
